The 60 vehicle deployment on Quito’s main transit routes will serve over 2 million residents with efficient and eco-friendly mobility, aligning with global sustainable development goals while modernizing the city’s public transit system.

As a high-altitude South American metropolis, Quito has long struggled with traffic gridlock and pollution exacerbated by an outdated EBRT system from the 1990s.

Yutong’s tailored 18.25-meter high-floor model for Ecuador demonstrates exceptional adaptability. This model is equipped with Yutong's self-developed second-generation collector system and isolated DC/DC converters, among other proprietary technologies. Its innovative dual power supply system overcomes route restrictions of traditional trams, ensuring seamlessly switch to battery power in non-contact sections and providing greater flexibility for bus operations in this mountainous city.

The Yutong dual-source trolleybus features a dual power system powered by both catenary lines and batteries, enabling regenerative braking. Paired with a high-efficiency motor drive system, it reduces energy consumption by 30-40% compared to traditional single-source trolleybuses, significantly lowering operational costs.
